Our country is doing what it does best again: dealing with chaos by laughing about it on the internet. If you haven’t heard, last week a drone strike ordered by Trump killed five people in Baghdad, one of whom was notable Iranian general Qasem Soleimani.
The attack drew swift criticism from Iran, who vowed vengeance for their slain general, and from critics in the US who considered the move reckless. The evening the news broke in the US, Twitter immediately started trending with hashtags of #WWIII and #WW3 flying everywhere.
If all this is making your anxiety rise, take a deep breath and enjoy these memes that will help us through these frightening times.
